MGMPGCET : Selection Process

 The selection to a course / college will be made as per merit cum preference given by the candidate.
• The allotment of seats shall be made to the candidates through personal appearance as per merit list and they will be called as per schedule for Counseling.
• The schedule of Counseling will be made available on the website i.e. www.mgmuhs.com after declaration of the result. No separate intimation regarding counseling will be sent. Therefore, all th successful candidates are directed to be in touch with the website of the MGM Institute till date on completion of the admission process for PG Courses.
• The candidates will have the right to choose any one of the available seats at his/her rank from the general category seats only and the same will be allotted to them.
• The qualified candidates are required to submit preference form for their option regarding the subject and college before the last date prescribed in the scheduled of MGM PGCET - 2016.
• The candidate should submit only one preference form. Submission of more than one form may lead to disqualification.
• The selection will be on the basis of merit and the preference submitted by the candidate in their preference form.
• The choice of Course and College once entered in the preference form shall be final and irrevocable. The final data shall be used in the entire selection process for admission to PG Course for the academic year 2016-17.
• The candidate shall have to appear personally and must produce original certificates at the time of admission and a set of attested photocopy of each of the document as per the list given below:
ü  Admit Card & Mark Sheet of MGM PGCET – 2016
ü  Proof of Age
ü  Nationality Certificate or valid passport
ü  SSC/10th/X Standard Board Mark Sheet & Certificate
ü  HSC/12th/XII Standard Mark Sheet & Board Certificate
ü  Statement of MBBS Marks of 1st year, 2nd year, Final year (part I & Part II Exams)
ü  MBBS Degree Certificate
ü  MBBS Passing Certificate
ü  MBBS Attempt Certificate
ü  Internship Completion Certificate
ü  Permanent registration Certificate of State Council / MCI
ü  Bonafide Certificate
ü  Affidavit regarding Educational Gap (if applicable)
ü  Medical Fitness Certificate
• Provisional certificate of MBBS Degree is permissible for those candidates who have passed the MBBS course in the year 2014 only. Candidates without original certificates/documents shall not be allowed to participate in the counseling at all. Candidates who have deposited their original documents with Institute /Colleges/Universities and come for counseling with a certificate stating that “their original certificate are deposited with the Institute/ College/University” may be considered by the competent authority and may be allowed to participate in counseling provided that student gives an undertaking that original certificate’s will be submitted before the stipulated date.
• In case a candidate unable to appear due to unforeseen circumstances, authorized representative by the candidate may appear on behalf of the student with duly filled and signed authority letter of the candidate. The authorized representative as defined in the rules and regulation of MGM Institute could be only blood relatives such as mother/father/elder brother/elder sister/elder sister in law/elder brother in law.
• Canvassing directly or indirectly for the allotment of seat would disqualify the candidate for admission. Influencing the staff by unfair means will lead to cancellation of allotment seat and such candidate will also face disqualification for appearance in the subsequent MGM PGCET.
• The registration once granted is valid only if the teacher and the dean are satisfied about regularity, diligent persuasion of studies by the student as well as good conduct.
• Candidate selected for admission shall be subject to disciplinary rules of the MGM Institute.
• A candidate selected for Postgraduate Degree / Diploma course will not be allowed for change of course / college / Institute on mutual basis.
• In case of dispute In the matter of allotment of course/institution or any other matter pertaining to the provisional selection or cancellation of admission. The decision of the MGM Institute shall be final and binding.
• After selection in first / subsequent rounds if the candidate desires to retain the same selection (Course & College) and does not want to take any further betterment than he/she can do so by filing “Status Retention Form” in a prescribed Performa. Status Retention Form is to be submitted to the MGM Institute through the College where he/she is admitted. However candidates should note that his/her name would be deleted for the further selection process for the academic year 2016-17.
• To confirm the admission, the candidate shall have to deposit his/her tuition fee together with all relevant original certificates, documents on day of counseling. The details of payment of fees will be communicated to the candidates before the counseling.
• The candidate who does not appear on the date of counseling or reject the available seats at their rank as per their preference or do not join the college by the prescribed date for joining mentioned in the selection letter shall forfeit the claim for a seat at constituent colleges of MGM Institute. The vacant seat will be filled by the next students as per the merit order.
• The University authority will issue notification which will be displayed on the website of MGM Institute indicating the dates of second round of counseling process if the seats remain vacant.There will not be any separate communication to the students for subsequent selection process.
• The vacant seats if any will be filled as per the merit list of MGM PGCET - 2016 amongst the eligible students who have not been selected in the first round of counseling. The candidate selected in first round will be considered for betterment in the subsequent selection process. “Betterment” means the higher preference exercised by the candidate. The shift in such betterment shall be compulsory and mandatory.
• The candidates who have filled in preference forms but are not selected in the first round are eligible for vacant seat(s) in the subsequent round.
• For filing of vacant seats after first round, same preference form will be considered and no separated preference form will be required to fill in by the candidate.
• If the candidate offered admission as per his/her order of preferences refuses to accept admission then he/ she will not be considered for next round of counseling.
• The following candidates will not be held eligible for subsequent admission process:
ü  Accepting registration but not reporting to the College and / or not paying the fees in prescribed time.
ü  Reporting to the college but not attending the residency programme regularly.
ü  Unauthorized absence during the residency.
ü  Paying the fees but not attending the residency.
ü  If the admission given by the Deemed University is cancelled by the Dean as a disciplinary action.
ü  If postgraduate registration given by the Deemed University is cancelled by the candidate.
