Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) is a common written test for the admission processes of undergraduate Institutes of Symbiosis International University established as under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956 vide notification No.F.9.12/2001 U.3 of the Govt. of India. In the year 2002 there were 3 constituent Institutes of SIU. Subsequently ten more Institutes of Symbiosis have been brought under the ambit of Symbiosis International University vide notification No.F.9.12/2006-U.3 (A).

It is a mandatory written test for the admission process for the undergraduate programmes of the following Symbiosis Institutes namely:-

·         Symbiosis Law School [SLS] – Pune

·         Symbiosis Law School [SLS] – NOIDA

·         Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies [SCMS] – Pune

·         Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies [SCMS] – NOIDA

·         Symbiosis Institute of Design [SID]

·         Symbiosis Institute of Computers Studies and Research [SICSR]

·         Symbiosis Institute of Media & Communication (Under Graduate) [SIMC-UG]

·         Symbiosis School of Economics [SSE]

·         Symbiosis School for Liberal Arts [SSLA]

·         Symbiosis Law School [SLS] - Hyderabad

Symbiosis Institute of Technology (SIT) also admits students through JEE Main conducted at National level

However,the SET is not mandatory for:

·         Symbiosis Institute of Technology (SIT)

·         Symbiosis College of Nursing (SCON)

·         Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences (SIHS)

·         Symbiosis School of Photography (SSP)

Symbiosis School for Liberal Arts (SSLA) :- [For International Baccalaureate (IB) students are exempt from SET]

Note: Candidates who are applying to Symbiosis Institute of Technology (SIT) and Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences (SIHS), Symbiosis School of Nursing (SCON), Symbiosis School for Liberal Arts (SSLA) [for IB students only] and Symbiosis School of Photography (SSP) should visit their websites for further details.

Candidate should note that SET is only the first step. Each Symbiosis Institute has its independent selection process.

TEST STRUCTURE

A. Duration: SET duration is 150 minutes.
B. SET is an objective test.
C. Papers: SET is conducted in two sessions for FIVE question papers. A candidate may apply to take one paper from each session.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

Step 1:

A. A candidate can register for one paper from the morning session; viz, Law or Design and one paper from the afternoon session; viz, General or Engineering or Health Sciences Register at www.set-test.org This will generate your SET ID. You need to upload your latest scanned photograph (in the given format and size) at the time of online registration.
For Engineering and Health Sciences, a candidate need not register for SET if he / she wishes to offer scores of entrance tests other than SET [such as JEE(Main)]. such candidate may apply directly to the concerned institute.You need to upload your latest scanned photograph (in the given format and size) at the time of online registration.

Step 2:

B. Pay a non-refundable fee of Rs. 1500/- towards the test fee and for prospectus of undergraduate programmes of Symbiosis International University.

Candidates have five (5) choices for payment as follows,

  ONLINE PAYMENT THROUGH CREDIT CARD:

·         -You may pay directly through either Master or Visa card online.

·         -Follow the instructions given in the SET website.

·         -You can also pay the application fee for various institutes through credit card.

  ONLINE PAYMENT THROUGH NET BANKING:

·         -You may pay your SET test fee from the list of banks to Symbiosis Test Secretariat account.

·         -You can also pay the application fee for various institutes through internet banking option.

  ONLINE PAYMENT THROUGH INDIAN BANK NET BANKING:

·         -You may pay your SET test fee to Symbiosis Test Secretariat account.

·         -You can also pay the application fee for various institutes through Indian Bank Internet Banking option.

AXIS Bank :

You can select the option of Payment through AXIS Bank and take the print out of the Axis Challan. This Challan has 3 parts. Pay Rs. 1500/- in cash at AXIS Bank branch in your city. The bank will return two parts of the Challan to you. One of them is the receipt for you.

Step 3.

Important instructions regarding Admit Card

·         1. SET Test Admit Card should be printed from the SET website [www.set-test.org] which will be available from, Monday, 20 April 2015 till Saturday,2 May 2015.

·         2. Admit Card along with Photo Identity proof should be carried to the Test Centre at the time of the test. An acceptable photo identity of any one of the following,

o    -Passport

o    -Driving license

o    -College / Institute identity card

o    -Credit card with photograph

o    -Voter Id Card

o    -Pan Card

o    -AAdhar Card (UID)

o    -Blue/Black ballpoint pen.

·         3. Please ensure that your latest passport size, coloured photograph is pasted on the Admit Card at the place provided for before appearing for test.

·         4. An authorized person from Symbiosis International University will verify and authenticate your Admit Card against the photo-id. Please preserve this authenticated Admit Card for further PI-WAT processes.

·         5. Candidates should note that an authenticated Admit Card is an important document without which the candidate will not be permitted to appear for further selection processes of SIU. If the Admit card is lost, a duplicate Admit Card will not be issued. It should be retained till the admission process is over.

SET registration fee is non-refundable. Please note that claims for refund of the SET registration fee will not be entertained on any account.


At the time of filling online application form or while appearing for SET test, any attempt to impersonate or indulge in any other malpractice would automatically disqualify the candidate from admission processes of all under graduate Institutes of Symbiosis International University and make the student liable to legal prosecution as per the laws of country.
Every student is urged to note that no donation or capitation fee is required to be paid for admission to any of the Symbiosis institutes. Students are cautioned against falling prey to any such assurance/offer by any individual or outside agency.
