There are strong possibilities of Ministry of AYUSH & CCIM implementing NEET entrance for AYUSH courses (Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Homeopathy & Siddha Medicine).
On 6th Jan 2017, Ministry of AYUSH had a meeting with CCIM members. The agenda was to implement the common entrance exam for AYUSH courses. Meeting also covered the other agendas which are mentioned bellow.

- Necessary amendments in the IMCC Act & the course curriculum for MBBS Doctors for MD (Ayu)/PG Diploma.
- Incorporation of Pre Ayurveda course in the present course curriculum of five and half yera course of BAMS & accordingly amendment in regulation concerned
- Course curriculum for Pre-Ayurveda course
- Obtaining the consent of existing AYurveda colleges which wants to conduct the BAMS course with Pre-Ayurveda course
- Provision of POst-Graduate (MD) course in Ayurveda for Modern Medicine Doctors of India & Abroad in regulation concerned
- Conduction of common entrance exam for admission in UG and PG courses of ASU systems on the line of NEET
- Stream line the visitation, recommondfation process of the CCIM, so that Permission to the ASU colleges for the academic session 2017–18 may be granted timely
