As per the official brochure of KCET, candidates can get admission in courses like “Medical, Dental, Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, Unani, Naturopathy & Yoga, Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Farm Science courses i.e. BSc (Agriculture), BSc (Sericulture), BSc (Horticulture), BSc (Forestry), BSc Agri Bio Tech, BHSc (Home Science), BTech (Agri Engg), BTech (Food Technology), BTech (Dairy Tech), BFSc (Fisheries), BTech (Food Science &Tech), BSc (Agri Marketing & Co-Op) , BPharma, Pharma-D and 2nd year B.Pharma Lateral Entry course, in Government / University / Private Aided/ Private Un-Aided Professional Educational Institutions in the State of Karnataka”.

Candidates seeking admission in BArch courses in the state of Karnataka have to appear for National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA). NATA is an All India level entrance examination which is conducted by the Council of Architecture.

KCET 2017 dates have been declared. The exam in 2017 will be held on May 2 and May 3.

KCET 2017 eligibility criteria is different for courses applied for. Have a look at the eligibility criteria for KCET:

For Engineering / Technology courses

 Candidates who have passed their qualifying examination (QE) with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Biology / Electronics / Computer Science as optional subjects with English as one of the languages of study are eligible to apply for KCET exam.

Aspirants who have secured minimum of 45% marks in the optional subjects in the QE are eligible for to apply for Engineering/Technology courses (40% for QE in case of SC, ST, Category-I and OBC category candidates).

The marks obtained by a candidate in Bio-Technology / Biology / Electronics / Computer Science in the QE, will be considered in place of Chemistry in case the marks obtained by him/her Chemistry are lesser than what the required aggregate percentage. However, this will be done only for the purpose of determination of eligibility and not for the purpose of determination of rank, in respect of Engineering / Technology courses.

The Engineering rank list will be prepared and published based on the candidate’s performance in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in both KCET 2017 as well as QE wherein the marks of each exam will be taken in equal proportion.

For (BTech) Food Technology, Dairy Technology, Food Science and Technology, Bachelor of Fishery Science, and BSc in Agriculture Marketing and Co-operation course.

KCET 2017 eligibility criteria for the above mentioned courses states that candidates can apply for these courses if they have passed their qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology as optional subjects.

Also, based on the performance of the candidates in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology subjects in both CET and QE by taking the marks in equal proportions, common rank list will be prepared and published separately for admission.

KCET 2017 application form

Candidates need to fill the application form for KCET exam legibly using a blue or black ink ball point pen in capital letters only.

The application form for KCET exam is a combination of ICR as well as OMR concept. The application form filled by candidates will be scanned by a machine. Thus, candidates are advised against making any stray marks on the form and also advised to refrain from enclosing any documents or papers along with their application forms.

Candidates need to fill the complete KCET application form because an incomplete form if submitted will be rejected as it is.

KCET 2017 Exam Pattern

 Candidates need to appear for CET in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects to secure admissions in Medical, Dental, Indian System of Medicine and Homoeopathy courses whereas those seeking admissions in Engineering / Technology courses conducted by KEA need to appear for entrance exams in Physics, Chemistry and Maths subjects. On the other hand, Architecture course aspirants need to appear for NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) which is conducted by the Council of Architecture.

 KCET is usually spread out over two days wherein aptitude of candidates is tested in four subjects. The tests for these subjects are held in four different sessions.

Marking system:

Each paper in KCET 2017 will be of 80 minutes duration and candidates can secure maximum of 60 marks in each exam.The CET has Multiple Choice Questions(MCQs) wherein for every correct response candidates are awarded one mark. There is no negative marking in KCET.

NEET

Full Name: National Entrance cum Eligibility Test

Organizing Body: Central Board of Secondary Education

NEET is one of the renowned and toughest Medical Entrance Exams 2017 – 2018 which is held generally in May. It is organized at the national level with the purpose to offer admissions to the medical courses in the top level universities and colleges of the country. This is objective examination with 180 multiple choice questions. The time span to solve the exam is THREE (3) hours. The exam comprises three sections namely Physics, biology and chemistry. The exam comprises of the multiple choice questions in which multiple choices are with only one possible answer.

AIIMS MBBS

Full Name: AIIMS MBBS entrance exam

Organizing Body: AIIMS, New Delhi

AIIMS MBBS is another renowned and deemed examination which is usually scheduled in the month of May every year. This exam is hosted by the AIIMS with the purpose to offer admission in the MBBS courses. The AIIMS is the computer based entrance test and considered as the toughest entrance examination. 3 hours and 30 minutes will be provided to solve the exam. The exam is conducted in two shifts i.e. morning and afternoon. There will be total 200 questions. AIIMS MBBS is objective in nature with multiple choices and only one correct answer.

KEAM Medical

Organizing Body: CEE, Kerala

Another top level Medical Entrance Exam 2017 – 2018 is KEAM Medical which is generally conducted in the month of April every year. This entrance exam is organized to grant admission in the medical colleges of Kerala. It is conducted in the offline mode. The medium of the question paper shall be English. The exam paper will total 120 questions. The exam is objective in nature which comprises of various multiple choices with only one appropriate answer. Negative Marking of 1 mark is applicable for the wrong answers.

KCET Medical

Full Name: Karnataka CET Medical entrance exam

Organizing Body: KEA

This is the state level medical entrance examination which is organized with the purpose to grant admissions in the medical colleges of Karnataka. The exam is usually held in the month of May every year. KCET medical is the offline mode examination and the aspirants need to bubble the answer in the machine graded OMR sheet. There will total 180 questions in the exam paper. The exam will be objective in nature. There will be three sections in the exam namely Physics, chemistry and biology.

MHT CET

Full Name: Maharashtra common entrance test

Organizing Body: DTE, Maharashtra

MH CET is another most popular Medical Entrance Exams 2017 – 2018. This state level entrance exam is usually held in the month of May every year. MH CET is the offline mode examination in which the candidates have to mark their answers on the OMR sheet. The questions of the exam paper are objective in nature. The medium of the paper shall be English, Marathi and Urdu. MHT CET measures the candidate’s ability in three sections which includes Physics, biology and chemistry. DY PATIL AIPGMET - ADMISSION 2016 | APPLICATION PROCEDURE | SELECTION PROCEDURE

ADMISSION PROCESS:

1. Post Graduate aspirant will be required to submit prescribed form of the AIPGMET – 2016, available on the Vidyapeeth website and/or included in information brochure.
2. Information brochure along with blank application form will also be available at the University Office on payment of Rs. 1,500/- Cash or DD in favour of “The Registrar, Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune”, payable at Pune drawn on a Nationalized/Scheduled Bank. If required by post the candidates will have to send a D.D. of Rs. 1,750/-
3. Candidates should fill in the application form in his/her own handwriting clearly and legibly.
4. The Examination Fee for AIPGMET – 2016 is Rs. 2,000/- (for late submission is Rs. 2,500/-) which should be paid at the time of submission of application form in the form of DD drawn on a Nationalized Bank in favour of “The Registrar, Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune”, payable at Pune.
   The downloaded Application Form, duly filled in, along with necessary documents and a demand draft of Rs. 3,750/- (covering Form Fee + Test Fee + Postage) should reach the University office before the last date of submission of form. Form number will be allotted at University and will be communicated to the candidate, through e-mail. 
5. The candidate should submit photocopies of the following documents along with the application form:

8. All candidates are requested to read the information carefully and get acquainted with all the necessary information before filling the application form. The candidate should ensure that the right and correct postal address is written in the application form. The Vidyapeeth shall not be responsible for loss of any communication due to incorrect Address/Phone/Mobile Nos. given by the candidate. The candidate should send his/her application form by Registered Post A.D. or through Courier or hand it over in person at the office of Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Sant Tukaram Nagar, Pimpri, Pune 411 018, so as to reach the Vidyapeeth on or before the last date of submission of forms. The candidate should clearly mention the choice of subject on the application form. The choice of course made by the candidate is final and binding and will not be altered later under any circumstances. 

Admit Card

1. The Admit Card will be made available on the University website, One week before the Entrance Test.
2. Issue of Admit Card is just an enabling provision for appearing AIPGMET-2016 and does not imply that the candidate satisfies all the requirements of eligibility for the admission.
3. Form number & date of birth are mandatory field for downloading admit card.
4. Form number, to the downloaded form, shall be allotted by Vidyapeeth on its arrival & scrutiny and shall be communicated through e-mail.

Admission Procedure

1. Candidate should obtain 50% or more marks at AIPGMET - 2016 to qualify for admission.
2. The provisional selection for the General Seats in the Post Graduate Courses will be done on the basis of merit-cum-preference in All India Post Graduate Medical Entrance Test (AIPGMET - 2016).
3. When all the Seats in a given Course are filled admission of students to that Course will instantaneously cease and Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune, will not be responsible for non-availability of seats and non allotment of seats to rest of the candidates.

Subsequent Selection Round

·         The notification will be published on the Vidyapeeth website and displayed on the Notice Board of Dr. D.Y. Patil Medical College for the subsequent selection round, to be conducted by the Competent Authority for vacant seats, where candidate has not joined or cancelled his/her admission.

·         A reasonable number of qualified candidates, as per the merit list, shall be called for Counseling and Admissions by the Competent Authority.

·         The candidate shall produce all the originals of the required Certificates at the time of counseling and admission.

·         The selection to the course shall be done on the basis of merit-cum-preference given by the candidate.

·         The selected candidate will have to join the course on or before 01/04/2016. The admission will be made on provisional basis. The candidate has to give an undertaking for completion of the Course.

·         Student shall submit the Eligibility form to the Vidyapeeth at the time of joining the course and the admission confirmation shall be subject to grant of eligibility by the Vidyapeeth.

Conduct of the Entrance Test (AIPGMET-2016)

1. The candidate shall attend AIPGMET - 2016 at his/her own cost.
2. Use of technology based calculating and communication devices like mobile, pager, watches, calculator, etc. is strictly prohibited in the Examination Hall.
3. No marks will be assigned where there is overwriting, scratching, double marking, or multiple answers.
4. The examination medium will be English.
5. AIPGMET - 2016 paper will be of three and half hours duration, containing 300 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ). Questions will be single best response objective type with four choices. Each correct response will be awarded one mark. There will be no negative marking for wrong answer. Scratching, overwriting and multiple answers will be considered as wrong answers. Candidate shall darken the circle corresponding to correct response by black ball point pen.
