MAT 2016 | Eligibility | Important Dates | Registration Procedure | Exam Pattern and Syllabus

MAT is conducted by AIMA 4 times in a year i.e. in the month of MAY, September, December and February on the 1st Sunday of the Month from 1000-1230 hours.Whereas the Computer Based Test is being conducted from Saturday onwards(6 Days after the Paper Based Test) and in different time slots. Candidates can choose to take either Paper Based Test or Computer Based Test as per their convenience.
MAT is one of the most popular competitive exams among MBA aspirants as it gets them access to a large number of good B schools in India. Also, the other reason that attributes to the immense popularity of this exam is that the candidates can choose to take either Paper Based Test or Computer Based Test as per their convenience.

Mode of Test (How to take the test)
Candidate can choose any one of the two options to take the test:
Paper Based Test
or
Computer Based Test

Paper based Test:
06 December 2015(Sunday) ,10:00am to 12:30 am
Computer based
12 December 2015 (Saturday)onwards** , In different Time slots at specific test venues; subject to number of candidates registering for Computer Based Test.
**If the number of candidates registered for Computer Based Test is limited and can be accommodated in a single day; the test will be completed on 12 December 2015 itself.

·         Graduates in any discipline.
·         Final year students of Graduate Courses can also apply.

Candidate can choose any one of the following modes to apply.
  • Register online at website lnk: http://apps.aima.in/matdec15 with Credit Card/Debit Card (ATM Card) payment. Detailed procedure is given on the website link.

Or

  • Register online at website link:  http://apps.aima.in/matdec15 by making payment of Rs.1200/- through Net Banking. Detailed procedure is given on the website link.

 
Or

  • Obtain crossed Demand Draft (DD) of Rs 1200/- (One thousand two hundred only) in favour of ‘All India Management Association’ payable at Delhi from any Bank. Register online at website link: http://apps.aima.in/matdec15 along with the DD details. Detailed procedure is given on the website link 

Or

  • Obtain OMR Registration Form with MAT Bulletin/CD against cash payment of Rs 1200/- (One thousand two hundred only) from AIMA, New Delhi.

NOTE:
AIMA HAS COME ACROSS A COUPLE OF CASES WHERE THE ASPIRING CANDIDATES’ MAT SCORE IS NOT ACCEPTED BY SOME PARTICIPATING INSTITUTES/UNIVERSITIES FOR ADMISSION TO MBA FULL TIME COURSE DESPITE THEIR CONFIRMATION TO AIMA AT THE TIME OF PARTICIPATION BY INCORPORATING THEIR NOTIFICATIONS IN MAT BULLETIN. CANDIDATES ARE ADVISED TO RECHECK WITH THE CONCERNED INSTITUTES/UNIVERSITIES BEFORE APPLYING FOR MAT

IMPORTANT DATES
For candidates who complete the Online Registration by
    • Uploading digital image of photograph,
    • Uploading digital image of signature, and
    • Online payment
Last Date for Online Registration: 24 November 2015 (Tuesday)
(In this case, do NOT send the printout of the Registration Form. However, the candidate should retain a Printout of Registration Form for reference.)
  • For candidates who affix the photograph and sign the printout of Registration Form
and

  • For candidates who make the payment through Demand Draft (DD) or Online Payment
and

  • For candidates who purchase the Registration Form against cash payment from AIMA Study Centres or from AIMA, New Delhi

Late Date for Online Filling-up / Purchase of Form: 21 November 2015 (Saturday)
and

Last Date for Submission of duly completed Printout of Registration Form at AIMA, New Delhi : 24 November 2015 (Tuesday)


(In this case, SEND the Printout of Registration Form. DD is also to be sent along with the Printout of the Registration Form, if payment was made through DD.)


ADMIT CARD
  • All provisionally registered candidates both for Paper Based and Computer Based Test can download their Admit Card from AIMA website link: (http://apps.aima.in/matadmitcard.aspx) on or after 28 November 2015 (Saturday).
  • Specific Admit Card is generated both for the candidates opted for the Paper Based Test and for the Computer Based Test. Admit Card contains Candidate’s Name, Form No, Roll No, Test Date, Test Time and Test Venue Address. Candidate has to strictly follow the date and time allotted to him/her in the case of Computer Based Test.

Pattern of MAT Entrance Exam

Total number of Questions: 200
Total Time allocated: 150 minutes

Marks allocation
Correct attempt: 1 mark
Incorrect attempt: Negative marking not specified

Sections with Questions
MAT entrance exam covers five sections in all. Scores of first four sections compose the final scores. However, institutions might choose to consider the score of the General Awareness section.

MAT is the test conducted by All India Management Testing Service for entering into MBA or equivalent post graduate programs. The five sections mentioned above are basically comprised of the following five papers:
