Entrance Test

Group Discussion (GD)

The GD is one of the vital components of the selection procedure and it is an formal exercise that facilitates the exchange of ideas on a given subject or topic. The GD is a powerful tool for assessing personality traits, leadership qualities and attitudes.

Personal Interview

The final rung of the ladder involves a personal interview. Candidates who have merged successful from the other levels will be called to attend a personal interview with the Admission Committee.

Final Decision

On completion of the personal interview, the Admission committee will review your application again. After carefully re-evaluating your personal details, presentation, performance at the Group Discussion and the conclusions drawn from the interview, the Committee will come to a final decision.

Scholarship

Jain University offers scholarship to meritorious students who fulfill the criteria decided by the admission committee. The scholarship will be a tuition fee waiver on a percentage basis and will not cover living cost. If the student loses interest in academic work and performs below par or fails to put in requisite attendance, he/she will forfeit the scholarship from that year. The scholarship has to be renewed each year. The renewal is subject to his/her fulfilling the criteria mentioned above Students who are eligible for the scholarship should appear for a test on 18th March 2017, Saturday at 12:00 noon

Note:

  • To qualify for the scholarship test the student must possess a percentage of 75% marks in his/her first two years or IV semesters.
  • Students should submit a photocopy of their marks card.
  • The list of candidates who have gained provisional admission to the respective program will be displayed on the website (www.jainniversity.ac.in) as well as on the respective campus notice board.

CMAT 2017 - Dates, Registration, Eligibility, Pattern, Syllabus

With the release of the notification, AICTE was supposed to conduct CMAT 2017 on two days, January 28 and 29, 2017. However, now the official website of AICTE-CMAT states January 29 as “Reserved Day”. This change on the website without any clarification has certainly created confusion among the aspirants. However, the CMAT official from the helpline centre said that the exam date has not yet been finalized, but it will either be January 28 or 29, 2017. The test will be held on one day and in single session only. Since last year, AICTE has been experimenting with the conduct of CMAT. The online registration has commenced from October 10 and will conclude on December 10, 2016. A link to access the application form has been provided here below in this article. Approx. 72000 candidates took the test last year and this number is expected to increase this year. CMAT Latest Update

CMAT 2017 registration begins from October 10. Access the link given below to apply for the test. Register for the test on or before December 10, 2016. CMAT Eligibility Criteria 2017

AICTE has prescribed the eligibility criteria to appear for this test, which must be satisfied by all the candidates interested in taking this test. They must ensure that they satisfy the eligibility conditions of CMAT, before filling the application form. Non-fulfillment of the same may lead to disqualification of the candidature irrespective of the stage of admission a candidate will be. The eligibility norms are as follow –
  • The candidate should be an Indian citizen and can apply for the test irrespective of his or her age.
  • He/she must have a Graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized University or Institute.
  • Also, final year pursuing students of Graduate courses whose result will be declared before commencement of admissions for the academic year 2017-18 are also eligible to apply.

CMAT Application Form 2017

The candidates eligible and interested in applying for this test will be required to get themselves registered online. AICTE has released the application form on October 10 and the last date to register for the test is December 10, 2016. For the ease of the candidates, a direct link to register for the test has been provided here in this article also. The applicants must fill and submit the CMAT 2017 Application Form only after ensuring that they fulfill the eligibility criteria. 
          To register for the test, the candidates will have to enter as “New User” and fill a self-registration form by entering a few basic details. On submission of this form, a unique 6 digit password was generated. This password was sent to the candidates via e-mail and SMS. Thereafter, using this password and ID, the candidates will have to login to the registration portal for filling the application form and pay the requisite application fee.  

CMAT Application Fee 2017 

The candidates will be required to pay a non-refundable registration fee while filling the application form. This fee can be paid online via Credit Card/Debit Card/Net banking or by depositing cash at any SBI Bank branch in India against the online generated challan. The amount of the application fee is as follow –
For General category candidates – Rs. 1400/- + Bank Charges
For Reserved category candidates – Rs. 700/- + Bank Charges

CMAT Exam Pattern 2017

The CMAT MBA Exam is a computer based test. The questions asked in the exam are objective type and 180 minutes are given to attempt these 100 MCQ’s. For every correct answer marked, 4 marks will be awarded and 1 mark will be deducted for marking a wrong answer. The test pattern can be easily understood from the table given below.

CMAT Cutoff 2017

There are over 400 B-Schools affiliated to AICTE which accept the CMAT scores for granting management admission to the deserving candidates. After the declaration of CMAT Result, these management institutes will release their individual cutoff.  It will be out for every category and generally the cutoffs remain on a higher side only. The minimum CMAT 2017 percentile for renowned and good B-schools in India is expected to range in between 97-99.XX. Based on these cuoffs and the selection criteria’s laid down by these institutes, the candidates will be shortlisted for further selection process. The selection criteria and cutoffs may vary for each institute. Usually the selection process comprises of a Written Test and a Personal Interview. Some of the institutes conduct a Group Discussion round also.

XAT 2016 ELIGIBILITY

Eligibility : Recognized Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration or equivalent in any discipline. Those completing their final examination by June 10, 2016 may also apply. All Indian candidates must appear for XAT 2016. However NRI and foreign candidates may apply through GMAT score (except Dubai and Kathmandu wherein candidates have an option of appearing for XAT 2016).

Students will be taught by faculty drawn from each of the three partner schools and spend a semester each in Shanghai, Cleveland and Jamshedpur.

General Management Programme
The General Management Program aims at augmenting the skill-sets and competencies of practicing managers. This 15 month, full time AICTE recognized course incorporates a 3-month field based training in a functional area.
Eligibility : Recognized bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration in India/abroad with at least 5 years of managerial/supervisory experience by March 31, 2016.

Candidates may apply either through XAT 2016 or GMAT score (taken between December 01, 2013 and December 20, 2015).

XAT 2016 - Xavier Aptitude Test | Dates, Eligibility, Exam Pattern, Admit Card

XAT 2016 - Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT), conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur, is one of the biggest national level MBA entrance exam aspired by majority of the MBA aspirants. In 2015 the XAT exam was taken by over 90,000 candidates. XAT 2016 scores will be accepted by XLRI Jamshedpur and other Xavier Associate Management Institutes and 141 B-schools across India for admission. XAT 2016 will be held on Sunday, January 3, 2016. The application process has started from September 4, 2015 and the last date to apply is November 30, 2015. This year XLRI has introduced some major changes in XAT exam pattern and application procedure.

About XAT:
XAT 2016 will be conducted on Sunday 3rd January 2016. XLRI conducts XAT on behalf of the XAMI. For more than 60 years XLRI is conducting XAT at all India level to select the most appropriate students for management education. The XAT score is being used by more than 100 institutes for the admission.

XAT 2016 would be conducted across India in the following cities.

XAT 2016 Eligibility: The XAT 2016 aspirants should be graduates in any discipline from a recognized university or institute. Final year students would also be eligible to take XAT 2016 provided they complete their final exam by June 10, 2016.

XAT 2016 Application Procedure: XAT 2016 Application process has started from September 4, 2015. For the first time, there is a common application form for XAT and XLRI Jamshedpur. It is a completely online process. The application form has to be filled online and the application fee can be paid through Cash, Net Banking, Demand Draft, Credit Card or Debit Card. The applicants have to upload passport size color photograph along with signature. The file size should not exceed 50 KB.

XAT 2016 Application Fee: The application fee for XAT 2016 is Rs. 1500. The candidates have to additionally pay Rs. 250 for each programme of XLRI.

XAT 2016 Admit Card: XAT 2016 Admit Card download process will start from December 20, 2015 and end by the end on December 31, 2015. No hard copy of the admit card will be sent to the candidate. 

XAT 2016 Exam Pattern: XAT is a paper pen based test of 3.5 hour duration. The paper comprises of total 5 sections divided in two papers. Paper 1 consists of objective, multiple choice questions from 3 sections – Quantitative Ability, English Language & Logical Reasoning and Decision Making and has a duration of 3 hours. 

Paper 2, partly subjective and partly objective type, comprises 2 sections – General Knowledge and Essay Writing. The General Awareness section consists of 30 questions. The duration for Paper 2 is 30 minutes.

XAT 2016 Selection Procedure: The XAT takers will be shortlisted on the basis of their performance and on the basis of the cutoff, XLRI and other XAT participating B-schools will shortlist the candidates. In final selection process, the shortlisted candidates will be appearing for the GD, PI and or WAT rounds conducted by the B-schools.
