MU OET PG Medical(Manipal University Online Entrance Test PG Medical)

Admission to Manipal University is through the online entrance examination. It is held at all over India at varied centers. Manipal Academy of Higher Education which is branded as Manipal University is a deemed university. It islocated in Manipal, Karnataka, India and has more than 28,000 students from across 52 countries. It also has branches in Sikkim, Bangalore, Jaipur, Malaysia, Dubai and Antigua. It holds a membership of the Association of Commonwealth Universities.
Manipal University is a well-known institute in varied educational fields. They have adapted the latest method of getting their students in a very comfortable and easy yet advanced way. They have initiated taking online entrance tests. And here let us talk about the Manipal University Online Entrance Test for PG (MU OET PG).
ELIGIBILITY
Duration: 4 years
Citizenship: Indian Nationals
Qualification: Pass in 10+2, A Level, IB, American 12th grade or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or any technical vocational subjects as optional with a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Mathematics and any one of the optional subjects
Admissions Process
General Category: Admissions are done on the basis of rank in the All India Manipal University Online Entrance Test (MU-OET) 2016
Foreign/NRI Category: Admissions are done on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination
Note: Candidates can apply both under General and Foreign/NRI categories. Change of category from Foreign/NRI to General after admission will not be entertained under any circumstances

Selection Process

Rank will be awarded to all the candidates who will qualify the All India Manipal University Online Entrance Test (MU OET) 2016. However, the other factors below will also hold weightage during the selection
Other factors include:
Number of seats in college and course
- Options filled in the counselling
- Availability of seats
- Merit list ranking
- Opening and closing ranks
It is vital to pay the application fee of MU OET because without remitting it the application procedure will not end. The amount of fee to be remitted will be announced through the information brochure. However, till then candidates may check the fee amount of last year. It is predicted that even this year the amount of fee will be the same as last year
FEE
For MUOET Application Fee: Rs 600/-
For MUOET 2016 Entrance Exam Fee: Rs.1000/-
Candidates can either opt for online mode or offline mode for submitting the application fee
Online Mode: Candidates have to pay application fee on mentioned amount through online mode via Net Banking or Credit Card
Offline Mode: Candidates who are unable to submit fee through online mode can opt for the offline procedure, where they can make the payment through the demand draft of Rs.1600/-; the DD should be drawn in favor of “Manipal University” payable at Udupi or Manipal

EXAM PATTERN AND SYLLABUS:
MD/MS/MDS
The test is two and a half hours long. It consists of 200 multiple choice questions (MCQ) carrying 200 marks.
The approximate distribution of questions is as follows:
Medicine including Paediatrics, Genetics, Dermatology & Venereology etc. – 40; Surgery including Orthopaedics, Trauma and Anaesthesiology – 30; Obstetrics & Gynaecology – 20; Community Medicine -20; Physiology – 14; Pharmacology – 14; Pathology – 14; Anatomy – 10; Otorhinolaryngology – 10; Ophthalmology – 10; Biochemistry – 6; Microbiology – 6; Forensic Medicine - 6.

MDS & PG DIPLOMA IN DENTAL MATERIALS
The test is two and a half hours long. It consists of 200 multiple choice questions (MCQ) carrying 200 marks.
The approximate distribution of questions is as follows:
Pedodontics – 16; Orthodontics – 16; Periodontics – 16; Oral Medicine & Radiology – 16; Prosthodontics – 16; Conservative Dentistry – 16; Oral Surgery – 16; Public Health – 16; Human Anatomy – 8; Human Physiology including Biochemistry – 8; Dental Materials – 8; Pharmacology – 8; General Pathology & Microbiology – 8; Oral Anatomy – 8; General Medicine – 8; General Surgery – 8; Oral Pathology – 8.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
Please go to www.manipalotbs.com for booking the Online Entrance Test schedule.
The online test booking system is available only to those eligible applicants who have submitted their application forms complete in all respects on or before the last date mentioned for the respective courses.
While booking your test schedule, please ensure that you have the following with you:
·         A photocopy of your submitted application form.
·         Online test booking password.

Manipal University will not be held accountable for non-bookings. The entrance test fee will not be refunded under any circumstances for such cases.
A confirmation mail will be sent to the email address after the applicant has booked his/her schedule through the Online Test Booking System.
An applicant is allowed to take a second attempt if she/he is not satisfied with his/her performance in the first test. The best of two scores is considered for the merit list.
The applicant has to again pay the entrance test fee for the Online Test Booking System and book the available slot for the second test. The payment option for the second test will be enabled in the Online Test Booking System only after the applicant has taken the first test.

INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS
Eligible incomplete application will not be processed. Please note that the admission office Manipal University does not have the responsibility to inform such applicants and they will also not be able to access the Online Test Booking System.
Incomplete applications may be due to declaration not signed / left thumb impression not taken / course/s not mentioned / DD not enclosed / DD wrongly drawn / Internship date not mentioned / Photographs not affixed on the application etc.
Applicants are required to book their examination slots in www.manipalotbs.com as per the schedule given below.
Please note that the online test booking system will not allow an applicant to book a slot after the booking end date has passed.

Admit Card:
The e-hall ticket is important because it has your e-hall ticket number, the course/s you have applied for, address of the test centre, and the date and time of your test.
The system generates the e-hall ticket 24 hours after you have booked your schedule through the online test booking system.
It is issued to applicants who book their slots using the online test booking system before the booking end date for respective courses as per the booking schedule.
If there are any discrepancies, please do not hesitate to bring it to our notice.
You can get your e-hall ticket from here www.manipalotbs.com. To do that you will need to specify your application form number and online test booking password to download it.
A copy of your e-hall ticket will also be emailed to you. (Please be sure to provide the correct email address in your application form).
PLEASE REMEMBER:
·         The e-hall ticket will NOT be sent to you via post or fax.
·         Please take two printouts of the e-hall ticket on A4 size paper, only.
·         Take a minute to check that all the information on the e-hall ticket is clearly legible, especially your photograph and signature.
·         No applicant will be permitted to appear for the test without a valid e-hall ticket.
·         You must not deface the e-hall ticket, or attempt to change any information on it after it has been authenticated and received at the admission office.
·         The e-hall ticket is also not transferable to anyone else. Impersonation is a legally punishable offence.
·         The e-hall ticket is an important document; it must be preserved and produced at the time of counselling/admission.
ON THE DAY OF THE TEST WHEN YOU REPORT TO THE TEST CENTRE, YOU NEED TO BRING WITH YOU
·         two copies of the e-hall ticket,
·         one photocopy of the application form and
·         any one of the following for photo identification: Passport/Driving License/EC Voter ID card/IT PAN card or School/College photo-bearing ID card.
