Karnataka PG Medical(Karnataka PG Medical Admission)

Government of Karnataka Department of Medical Education in association with Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has decided to accept AIPGMEE 2016 score for admission to 38 Master of Surgery (MS), Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Diploma programmes. As per the official notification, there will be no separate entrance exam for admission to Karnataka PG Medical courses. Admission to 50% state quota seats in 16 governments, 12 Deemed and 32 COMEDK and 17 KRLMPCA participation institutions will be done through AIPGMEE 2016 state score for Karnataka.

AIPGMEE 2016 is a national level entrance exam which will be conducted from December 2 to 8 by examination authority National Board of Examinations (NBE) for admission to 50% All India quota seats of MD/MS/Diploma, in various Government medical colleges of India except PG Medical Colleges of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Jammu & Kashmir.

Karnataka PG Medical 2016 Admission Eligibility: Candidate who fulfils the following criteria shall be eligible to appear for the counselling process.
Eligibility for Non – Service Candidates:
·         Candidates must be a citizen of India
·         Candidates must have studied and passed MBBS Degrees in colleges recognized by Medical Council of India Council of India, Government of India and affiliated to any University of India and located in Karnataka State
·         As per the Candidate must be of Karnataka origin who has studied MBBS degrees in colleges outside Karnataka recognized by Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India. Candidates of Karnataka Origin – means candidate or their parents (father or mother) has been a resident of Karnataka State for a period of not less than 10 years, and must produces a certificate from the concerned Tahsildar
·         As per the Karnataka PG Medical 2016 admission eligibility candidates must have completed or will be completing their ‘Compulsory Rotating Internship’ on or before April 30, 2016
·         Must be less than 45 years of age as on March 31, 2016
·         Candidates who holding a Post Graduate degree in any specialty, will not be eligible for Karnataka PG Medical 2016 admission procedure 
·         The children of serving or retired employees of All India Services, Karnataka cadre of the State Government who had served or are serving outside the state during the period the candidate had been studying from the first standard till the commencement of the first year of the course leading to the degree in the qualifying examination, to the extent of the period of such service outside the state
·         Children of Central Government employees and employees of Central or State Government  undertakings  or Joint Sector working  continuously  in Karnataka  for at least three years as on April 30, 2016
·         Children of Central Government employees and employees of Central or State Government undertakings or joint Sector undertakings working as on the April 30, 2016 outside the state, where such employee had declared to the respective Government organization a place in Karnataka as their home town
·         Studied  for  not  less  than  5  years  between  the  1st   &  10th   standard  or equivalent examination in any educational institution in Karnataka run or recognized by the state Government
·         The children of members of parliament elected from the Karnataka to the extent of period of being the Member of Parliament during the period of the child study in New Delhi.  From  the  standard first to  the  qualifying  examination  during  his  tenure  as Member of Parliament
·         The Children of serving Defence personnel or Ex-servicemen whose address at the time of joining the Defence Service is in Karnataka
Eligibility for In Service Candidates: In- Service Candidates means persons belonging to the Health & Family Welfare Services, Employees State Insurance (Medical) Services ESIC Doctors   working   in Karnataka   are considered as In-service Doctors and their seat allocation will be done as per the prescribed quota
·         As per the Karnataka PG Medical 2016 admission eligibility In- Service Candidates has been working not less than 3 years of regular employment including successful completion of probation period as on last date of receipt of applications for the Entrance Test
·         Candidates must have completed the prescribed period of probation
·         No In-service candidate shall be eligible for admission to Post Graduate Degree / Diploma in any subject other than the speciality in which they are working
·         In-service candidate who is already holding a Post Graduate Degree in any Specialty will not be eligible for admission to any other Post Graduate Degree or Diploma
·         In-Service candidate who is already holding a Postgraduate Diploma in any specialty will be eligible for Post Graduate degree course in the same Specialty and shall not be eligible for any other Post Graduate Degree or Diploma Courses
·         Incomplete and incorrect applications are liable for rejection. No changes will be entertained after the submission of application
Karnataka PG Medical 2016 Admission Selection Procedure - The examination authority KEA will shortlist candidates for Karnataka PG Medical 2016 counselling based on the AIPGMEE 2016 score for Karnataka state quota. Allotment of MD/MS/Diploma programmes under 50% state quota seats in medical colleges of Karnataka will be based on AIPGMEE 2016 Score card and rank of Karnataka state. Only those candidates will be eligible for admission to Karnataka PG Medical 2016 programmes who secured qualifying marks in AIPGMEE 2016. The qualifying score of AIPGMEE is 50% for General candidates and 40 % in case of OBC/SC/ST category.

Karnataka PG Medical 2016 Merit List – 
The examination authority National Board of Examinations (NBE) will send list of qualified candidates in Karnataka PG Medical 2016 to admission authority KEA. Based on the list of candidates the admission authority will prepare Karnataka PG Medical 2016 merit list after considering reservation criteria as per rules. The Karnataka PG Medical 2016 Merit List will have candidate’s name, state rank, category, AIPGMEE 2016 score, NBE testing ID, etc.  Karnataka PG Medical 2016 merit list will be determined as per the following criteria:
I) >=50% in PGET for General Merit candidates
ii) >=40% in PGET for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe & OBC candidates (Karnataka)
iii) >= 45% in PGET for Persons with Disability candidates with locomotor Disability of lower limbs between 40% to 70% (for Medical)
Karnataka PG Medical 2016 Counselling will be conductedtentatively in the month of March for allotment of MD/MS/Diploma seats in medical colleges of Karnataka. The counselling will be conducted in online mode in which candidates have to fill their colleges and course preference. Candidates have to download the counselling registration form for admission to PG Courses. Candidates have to fill  all  the  details  in  the registration form, and obtain demand draft drawn in favour of Executive Director, KEA, payable at Bangalore for Rs.1,000 (Rs.500 for SC/ST and Cat-I of Karnataka) in any  nationalized   banks.  Filled Karnataka PG Medical 2016 registration   form and demand   draft should be submitted along with the other documents at the time of verification

MU OET PG Medical(Manipal University Online Entrance Test PG Medical)

Admission to Manipal University is through the online entrance examination. It is held at all over India at varied centers. Manipal Academy of Higher Education which is branded as Manipal University is a deemed university. It islocated in Manipal, Karnataka, India and has more than 28,000 students from across 52 countries. It also has branches in Sikkim, Bangalore, Jaipur, Malaysia, Dubai and Antigua. It holds a membership of the Association of Commonwealth Universities.
Manipal University is a well-known institute in varied educational fields. They have adapted the latest method of getting their students in a very comfortable and easy yet advanced way. They have initiated taking online entrance tests. And here let us talk about the Manipal University Online Entrance Test for PG (MU OET PG).
ELIGIBILITY
Duration: 4 years
Citizenship: Indian Nationals
Qualification: Pass in 10+2, A Level, IB, American 12th grade or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or any technical vocational subjects as optional with a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Mathematics and any one of the optional subjects
Admissions Process
General Category: Admissions are done on the basis of rank in the All India Manipal University Online Entrance Test (MU-OET) 2016
Foreign/NRI Category: Admissions are done on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination
Note: Candidates can apply both under General and Foreign/NRI categories. Change of category from Foreign/NRI to General after admission will not be entertained under any circumstances

Selection Process

Rank will be awarded to all the candidates who will qualify the All India Manipal University Online Entrance Test (MU OET) 2016. However, the other factors below will also hold weightage during the selection
Other factors include:
Number of seats in college and course
- Options filled in the counselling
- Availability of seats
- Merit list ranking
- Opening and closing ranks
It is vital to pay the application fee of MU OET because without remitting it the application procedure will not end. The amount of fee to be remitted will be announced through the information brochure. However, till then candidates may check the fee amount of last year. It is predicted that even this year the amount of fee will be the same as last year

For MUOET 2016 Entrance Exam Fee: Rs.1000/-
Candidates can either opt for online mode or offline mode for submitting the application fee
Online Mode: Candidates have to pay application fee on mentioned amount through online mode via Net Banking or Credit Card
Offline Mode: Candidates who are unable to submit fee through online mode can opt for the offline procedure, where they can make the payment through the demand draft of Rs.1600/-; the DD should be drawn in favor of “Manipal University” payable at Udupi or Manipal

EXAM PATTERN AND SYLLABUS:
MD/MS/MDS
The test is two and a half hours long. It consists of 200 multiple choice questions (MCQ) carrying 200 marks.
The approximate distribution of questions is as follows:
Medicine including Paediatrics, Genetics, Dermatology & Venereology etc. – 40; Surgery including Orthopaedics, Trauma and Anaesthesiology – 30; Obstetrics & Gynaecology – 20; Community Medicine -20; Physiology – 14; Pharmacology – 14; Pathology – 14; Anatomy – 10; Otorhinolaryngology – 10; Ophthalmology – 10; Biochemistry – 6; Microbiology – 6; Forensic Medicine - 6.

MDS & PG DIPLOMA IN DENTAL MATERIALS
The test is two and a half hours long. It consists of 200 multiple choice questions (MCQ) carrying 200 marks.
The approximate distribution of questions is as follows:
Pedodontics – 16; Orthodontics – 16; Periodontics – 16; Oral Medicine & Radiology – 16; Prosthodontics – 16; Conservative Dentistry – 16; Oral Surgery – 16; Public Health – 16; Human Anatomy – 8; Human Physiology including Biochemistry – 8; Dental Materials – 8; Pharmacology – 8; General Pathology & Microbiology – 8; Oral Anatomy – 8; General Medicine – 8; General Surgery – 8; Oral Pathology – 8.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
Please go to www.manipalotbs.com for booking the Online Entrance Test schedule.
The online test booking system is available only to those eligible applicants who have submitted their application forms complete in all respects on or before the last date mentioned for the respective courses.
While booking your test schedule, please ensure that you have the following with you:
·         A photocopy of your submitted application form.
·         Online test booking password.

Manipal University will not be held accountable for non-bookings. The entrance test fee will not be refunded under any circumstances for such cases.
A confirmation mail will be sent to the email address after the applicant has booked his/her schedule through the Online Test Booking System.
An applicant is allowed to take a second attempt if she/he is not satisfied with his/her performance in the first test. The best of two scores is considered for the merit list.
The applicant has to again pay the entrance test fee for the Online Test Booking System and book the available slot for the second test. The payment option for the second test will be enabled in the Online Test Booking System only after the applicant has taken the first test.

INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS
Eligible incomplete application will not be processed. Please note that the admission office Manipal University does not have the responsibility to inform such applicants and they will also not be able to access the Online Test Booking System.
Incomplete applications may be due to declaration not signed / left thumb impression not taken / course/s not mentioned / DD not enclosed / DD wrongly drawn / Internship date not mentioned / Photographs not affixed on the application etc.
Applicants are required to book their examination slots in www.manipalotbs.com as per the schedule given below.
Please note that the online test booking system will not allow an applicant to book a slot after the booking end date has passed.

Admit Card:
The e-hall ticket is important because it has your e-hall ticket number, the course/s you have applied for, address of the test centre, and the date and time of your test.
The system generates the e-hall ticket 24 hours after you have booked your schedule through the online test booking system.
It is issued to applicants who book their slots using the online test booking system before the booking end date for respective courses as per the booking schedule.
If there are any discrepancies, please do not hesitate to bring it to our notice.
You can get your e-hall ticket from here www.manipalotbs.com. To do that you will need to specify your application form number and online test booking password to download it.
A copy of your e-hall ticket will also be emailed to you. (Please be sure to provide the correct email address in your application form).
PLEASE REMEMBER:
·         The e-hall ticket will NOT be sent to you via post or fax.
·         Please take two printouts of the e-hall ticket on A4 size paper, only.
·         Take a minute to check that all the information on the e-hall ticket is clearly legible, especially your photograph and signature.
·         No applicant will be permitted to appear for the test without a valid e-hall ticket.
·         You must not deface the e-hall ticket, or attempt to change any information on it after it has been authenticated and received at the admission office.
·         The e-hall ticket is also not transferable to anyone else. Impersonation is a legally punishable offence.
·         The e-hall ticket is an important document; it must be preserved and produced at the time of counselling/admission.
ON THE DAY OF THE TEST WHEN YOU REPORT TO THE TEST CENTRE, YOU NEED TO BRING WITH YOU
·         two copies of the e-hall ticket,
·         one photocopy of the application form and
·         any one of the following for photo identification: Passport/Driving License/EC Voter ID card/IT PAN card or School/College photo-bearing ID card.
